These are the three SDS-plus rotary hammers — hilti machines, on site — that most electricians, fitters and contractors end up choosing between. Two of the names cover more than one machine, so first, exactly which ones we mean: the GBH 2-28 on our list is the GBH 2-28 DV; the GBH 2-26 comes as the GBH 2-26 RE and the GBH 2-26 DRE.

GBH 220 against GBH 2-26 RE
The 2-26 RE costs ₹8,871 more. For that you get 2.7 J per blow instead of 2 J — about a third harder — holes up to 26 mm instead of 22 mm, and a machine Bosch rate as best between 8 and 16 mm. You also carry 0.4 kg more.
The GBH 220 is Bosch's entry SDS-plus hammer, and Bosch list three modes on it — hammer drilling, plain drilling and chiselling. For an electrician fixing boxes and clamps, an AC or interior fitter, or a household that needs a dozen holes in concrete, it is enough. It is not built for a contractor who drills anchors from morning to evening.
GBH 2-26 RE against GBH 2-28 DV
The GBH 2-28 DV costs ₹3,550 more than the GBH 2-26 RE. On every figure we have, it is the stronger machine: 3.2 J against 2.7 J, 850 W against 800 W, up to 1,300 rpm against 900, up to 5,100 blows a minute against 4,000, and holes up to 28 mm against 26 mm. It weighs 0.2 kg more. Bosch rate both at their best between 8 and 16 mm, so for the same anchor sizes the 2-28 DV simply gets through them faster.
If you drill every day, the extra ₹3,550 is the easy part of the decision. If you drill a few days a month, the 2-26 RE does the same holes for less.
And the GBH 2-26 DRE?
The GBH 2-26 DRE is ₹15,060 — ₹1,134 more than the RE. Our product page does not carry its Bosch spec sheet yet, so we have not filled its column or guessed at what the extra letter adds. Ask us and we will read the figures off before you choose.
One more to consider: GBH 2-24 DRE
At ₹11,696, the GBH 2-24 DRE has the same 2.7 J as the 2-26 RE, at 790 W and 2.8 kg, for ₹2,230 less. Bosch describe it as drilling concrete, metal and wood and chiselling tiles. Its maximum hole size is not on our product page yet — ask if that matters for your work.

What is the price of the Bosch GBH 2-28?

Is the GBH 220 enough for a contractor?
For occasional holes up to 22 mm, yes. For anchors all day, its 2 J will slow you down; a 2-26 or 2-28 is built for that.
